I spent a cool afternoon in the shades of these trees yesterday. This small urban park is situated within the Kuching Watefront area.

Red Japanese Bridge

The Kuching Reservoir Park is a popular jogging, walking, exercise and picnic venue for many Kuching residents and visitors. Its lush greenery and many ponds provides much tropicalness to the area. I find the red Japanese bridge a pretty focal point and provides a strong element of interest to the park. The reservoir was built more than 100 years ago to store and filter water for the consumption of Kuching's town population then. Now it functions wholly as a public park.

Pocket garden

This pocket garden is by the side of Kuching's former court house .The huge rain tree provides much needed shade, greenery and character to the place.

A cotton tree in Kuching

Cottons and cottons everywhere on the lawn at Padang Merdeka, Kuching city. A cu view.

Two young girls are busy collecting cottons falling off from this cotton tree at Kuching's Padang Merdeka lawn. A rare moment not to be missed in Kuching. I was fortunate to witness the cotton tree shedding cotton on the garden floor below. My estimate is that this tree is about 25 m high.

Shady spots inside the Park are a welcome break in the glaring sun.

Fountain at Reserviour Park

The Resrviour Park is a popular jogging and passive recreation area that sits right smack in the center of Kuching city . It is within walking distance from the major tourist hotels in Kuching.
